Since 2013, at our production facility in Ankara, we have been delivering lasting, engineering-based solutions to the wear and corrosion problems of heavy industry.
A Team Specialised in Surface Engineering
UMEK Welding & Surface Technologies is a surface technology and remanufacturing company that develops engineering-driven solutions to industrial problems caused by wear, corrosion, erosion and high temperature.
From day one, our aim has never been to be just another repair shop, but a reliable engineering partner that extends our customers' equipment life, lowers their maintenance costs and improves production continuity.
Our capabilities include HVOF thermal spray coatings, PTA (Plasma Transferred Arc) hardfacing, arc spray metallising, weld overlay, machining, precision grinding and dimensional restoration. With these technologies we both enhance the performance of newly manufactured parts and return critical equipment that has reached the end of its economic life to service.
We serve a wide range of industries, notably oil and gas, drilling, power generation, pulp and paper, galvanising, iron and steel, cement, mining, recycling, hydropower and woodworking. For each industry we select materials and coating systems through engineering calculation to suit its specific operating conditions, delivering long-life solutions.
At UMEK we do not settle for standard procedures; we analyse every project in terms of operating conditions, wear mechanism, temperature, corrosive environment and customer expectations. Where required, we combine coating, welding technology, material selection and manufacturing methods to develop the best-fit solution for our customers.
Our production infrastructure is supported by robotic coating systems, precision machining and quality control equipment. Throughout every job, process parameters, dimensional checks and surface quality criteria are closely monitored to achieve results that meet international industrial expectations.

We Build Our Own Twin Wire Arc Spray Units
UMEK designs and builds the twin wire arc spray power units it uses on site and in its own facility with its in-house engineering team. With a 380 V / 3-phase supply, a deposition efficiency in the 60–90 range and a deposition rate of 10–30 kg/h, they provide a highly productive application process with low maintenance costs.
